Known mononymously among the worlds of [[planes:aurius:start|Aurius]] as the Dark, the force has come under various names when it is recognized. As an entity that is a simple exclusion of the force of [[pantheons:deities:the_light_disambiguation|the Light]], it is sometimes not formally recognized, though there is always an implication of its existence through an interaction with the light to form creation. Notably, among the [[races:humans:caskaric:iluayans:start|Iluayans]] of [[planes:aurius:caskaris:start|Caskaris]], it is referred to as [[pantheons:deities:umbra|Umbra]], though it is not regarded in the same way amongst them and their variegated cultures. The [[races:humans:varayans|Varayans]] of the same land believe in the [[pantheons:class:asuras|Asuras]] as the beings of chaos, though in their context, it is not a force which they acknowledge to have given rise to the Asuras necessarily. The Ethetia, notably, do not recognize the dark as a force in and of itself, believing primarily in [[pantheons:deities:solara|Solara]] and the sun. The [[races:elves:start|elven people]] acknowledge the [[pantheons:class:novya|Novya]] as the agents of the darkness, though there is [[pantheons:deities:azratha|a specific entity]] that is thought to encapsulate a form of entropy within it.
