Aecora, Goddess of Water

Aecora is acknowledged by the descendants of the Cephareth as a goddess of the water and the giver of beauty, wisdom, and agility, and it was through her spiritual bloodline that all water spirits descend from as a result of her ability to incarnate herself firstly into a conscious form as a Cephareth. It is Aecora’s original essence that resides within every body of water, and through her given providence such elements are made nutritive and eternal throughout the cycles that occur within the bound plane of Aurius. All water spirits are thought to take after Aecora and her essential core of being, as she first allowed for the element like water to form on the bound plane and then, allowed other spirits the ability to know themselves as the same. Thus, she is something like a divine guider and spiritual progenitor of all of the water spirits and their physical incarnations, and she is bathed in this light in her depictions throughout the descendants of the Cephareth of which notably include the Arethara and the Undara. Accordingly, the water spirits encapsulate Aecora’s spirit through their achievement of an ineffable wisdom and graceful beauty, where they oftentimes wield such potent yet inconspicuous knowledge of which the water reveals throughout its reflections and gaze.

The Undara, who inhabit the oceans of Aurius plentifully and yet, with the crushing darkness beneath them, worship Aecora as their divine, spiritual ancestor and the original bearer of wisdom and grace, as the Undara believe the goddess to be the giver of knowledge and the undisclosed interpretations behind the meaning of existence and life. These elven people also believe that Aecora willingly allowed the darkness to enter her depths so that the ocean might churn and consistently bring its abundance to the surface, where it might be reincarnated as rain and the clouds which contain rainwater within them. This act of acceptance of the darkness is considered as one of wisdom, where the great powers of shadow may be used and sublimated into the very essence of creation so that instead, the world might continue existing.

The Arethara recognize the goddess Aecora as the original water spirit from which came all water and their accompanying aspects, though she is believed to belong to the bygone group of deities called the Cephareth, who are no longer worshipped throughout the world of Arethayn but thrived in the Arethi Era. Though this may be the case, there are many shrines that remain from the previous era, and there being no reason for deconstruction by the modern Arethara who adhere strictly to the caste system propagated by the Elefyr. Her essence, notably being omnipresent throughout Aurius in the form of bodies of water, rain, and clouds, is not the focal point of their acknowledgement of the deity; it is rather her elven body that she is depicted and acknowledged as, and possessing features of great beauty and grace such that her likeness is seen throughout the elven people of Arethayn.
